Following the successful handover of the new attraction at ‘the happiest place on earth’ located in Lantau Island in Hong Kong, on 30 March, ISG in Hong Kong was invited to participate in the preview launch celebration, prior to its official opening to the public on 31 March.
In August 2017, ISG was appointed by the world’s leading entertainment conglomerate to deliver new attractions within the theme park across three phases, as part of its multi-year expansion. The first two phases were completed last year and the last phase was handed over in January 2019.
A wide scope of works was delivered in the final phase, which involved excavation and structural works, refurbishment, alterations and additions works for 25,000 sq ft of space, including the installation of 4,000 sq ft of new façades and the fit out of public areas and restrooms. ISG also delivered landscaped areas spanning 10,000 sq ft, and installed new mechanical, electrical and plumbing services throughout the entire attraction.
The highly technical and challenging project was delivered on time and on budget over a period of 18 months, with exceptional project outcomes and positive feedback received by the customer.
ISG’s operations director in Hong Kong, Mark Osborne, commented on the challenging yet successful delivery: “We are delighted that our team’s efforts to work in partnership with the customer were highly recognised by our customers and project stakeholders. We will continue to nurture this strong customer relationship, and leverage from their confidence and trust in our capability and level of services to ensure continued growth and success with this prestigious customer.”
ISG’s project director for the project, Terence Chu, said: “We were humbled and honoured to be invited by the customer to experience the new attraction before its official opening. The team and our families enjoyed our day out and had a magical and wonderful day at the theme park.”
