Introduction

The non-governmental organisation offers high-class banqueting service to its members at Happy Valley Racecourse. The fine dining restaurant in this project spans 8,000 sq ft, providing a spacious dining place for the club members.

A 3.3m long steel bridge between two buildings namely Member Stand 3 and Pavilion Stand was also required to be built, therefore precise structural works were also involved.

The project

The project involved works in a live environment and was required to be completed with a tight deadline. ISG built three toilets, converted a library into a restaurant and kitchen area, and delivered a 3.3m long cantilever steel bridge to connect two buildings.

Due to the complexity in the infrastructure of the bridge, ISG worked closely with the structural engineer to follow a precise installation sequence and to ensure the bridge was built in the right position. New toilets in two floors were also required, which were still in use during the construction period. ISG had to strategically plan for the works and maintain communication with the club operator in order to avoid disturbances.

After all alternation and additional works were completed, ISG carried out the fit out works to deliver a luxury private dining club in grand style.
