Introduction

ISG was appointed as main contractor for the fitting out work for the OZO Wesley Hong Kong Hotel at 22 Hennessy Road, Wanchai. The project lasted for nine months, from Sep 2012 to June 2013, and covered three floor levels of podium and 16 floor levels of guest room with a total floor area of about 100,000 sq ft delivered in three phases.

The project

The project included the refurbishment and upgrade of guestrooms across 16 floors. The aging building presented unexpected problems during construction, such as leakages from water and chiller pipes and hollow wall plastering.

The work sequence and logistics needed to be meticulously planned in preparation for the podium and first phase of guestroom development; a challenge which was successfully navigated through close communication with the designers and client throughout the construction.
